1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1792
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1792 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT to amend the Hospital District Law by adding
5 Section 26."; and
6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
7 following:
8 "Section 5. The Hospital District Law is amended by
9 adding Section 26 as follows:
10 (70 ILCS 910/26 new)
11 Sec. 26. Dissolution of district; distribution of moneys
12 in district treasury. If a hospital district is dissolved
13 under Section 25 and it has moneys in its treasury, prior to
14 the time business and affairs of the district have been
15 closed up, the board of directors may propose an ordinance to
16 distribute the moneys to a not-for-profit organization for
17 the purpose of providing medical school scholarships to
18 residents of the territory that was included in the district
19 at the time the district was dissolved. If the board of
20 directors proposes the ordinance, the board shall hold a

1 public hearing on the ordinance. Notice of the hearing shall
2 be given by publication, not less than 10 days before the
3 hearing, in a newspaper of general circulation within the
4 district. After holding the hearing, the board of directors
5 may adopt an ordinance directing that the moneys be
6 transferred to the not-for-profit organization.".
