Amend House Bill 1687 on page 1, by 3 replacing lines 29 through 31 with the following: 4 "(4) Except as provided in item (4.1), the aggregate 5 retail value of all prizes or merchandise awarded in any 6 single day of bingo may not exceed $2,250, except that in 7 adjoining counties having 200,000 to 275,000 inhabitants 8 each, and in counties which are adjacent to either of such 9 adjoining counties and are adjacent to a total of not more 10 than 2 counties in this State, and in any municipality having 11 2,500 or more inhabitants and within one mile of such 12 adjoining and adjacent counties having less than 25,000 13 inhabitants, 2 additional bingo games may be conducted after 14 the $2,250 limit has been reached. The prize awarded for any 15 one game, including any game conducted after reaching the 16 $2,250 limit as authorized in this paragraph (4), may not 17 exceed $500 cash or its equivalent."; and 18 on page 2, by replacing lines 1 through 16 with the 19 following: 20 "(4.1) Notwithstanding the provisions of item (4), the 21 Department may issue a special prize license to a licensee if 22 the county in which the licensee conducts bingo approves the 23 special prize license. A special prize licensee shall -2- LRB9103875LDmbam01 1 authorize a license to award prizes or merchandise in a 2 single day of bingo that has an aggregate retail value that 3 exceeds the limits imposed under item (4) but does not exceed 4 $10,000. A special prize license authorized under this item 5 (4.1) shall authorize the licensee to award prizes or 6 merchandise at the higher limit authorized in this item (4.1) 7 on 2 days per year and shall not permit the licensee to 8 conduct gambling on days other than as authorized in this 9 Act.".
