1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1448
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1448, by adding the
3 following Sections:
4 Section 10. In addition to any other amounts previously
5 or elsewhere appropriated, the sum of $1,400,000, or so much
6 thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General
7 Fund to the Department on Aging for additional grants for the
8 statewide Red Tape Cutters Program.
9 Section 15. The sum of $1,000,000, or so much thereof as
10 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue
11 Fund to the Department on Aging for a grant to provide new
12 and expanded respite care programs as intended in the Respite
13 Care Program Act.
14 Section 20. In addition to any amounts previously or
15 elsewhere appropriated, the sum of $500,000, or so much
16 thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General
17 Revenue Fund to the Department on Aging for an additional
18 grant to the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program.
19 Section 25. The sum of $500,000, or so much thereof as
20 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue

1 Fund to the Department of Public Health for a grant to fund a
2 pilot project to conduct AIDS research focusing on the
3 increase in cases in the African-American population and
4 create programs to reduce the increase of such cases.
5 Section 30. In addition to any other amounts previously
6 or elsewhere appropriated, the sum of $2,000,000, or so much
7 thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General
8 Revenue Fund to the Department of Public Health for a grant
9 to the AIDS Drug Awareness Program to expand the program.
10 Section 35. The sum of $375,000, or so much thereof as
11 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue
12 Fund to the Department of Public Health for a grant to the
13 Adoption Registry Program for operating expenses.".
