91_HB1279eng HB1279 Engrossed LRB9102070ACcd 1 AN ACT to amend the Alternate Fuels Act by adding Section 2 27. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Alternate Fuels Act is amended by adding 6 Section 27 as follows: 7 (415 ILCS 120/27 new) 8 Sec. 27. E85 refueling retail site program. Beginning 9 in fiscal year 2001, the Agency shall operate a program to 10 provide incentives for the establishment of retail E85 11 refueling sites. Subject to appropriation, the Agency shall 12 provide matching grants to retailers of E85 blend fuel for 13 the cost of installation of tanks for E85 blend fuel. The 14 amount of the grant may not exceed 50% of the total cost of 15 installation or $20,000. The Agency may provide matching 16 grants for not more than 20 retail locations each fiscal year 17 beginning in fiscal year 2001 and ending with fiscal year 18 2003. At least 10 of the grants made each year shall be to 19 retail locations situated in the covered area. 20 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 21 becoming law.
