1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1276
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1276 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT to amend the Illinois Municipal Code by changing
5 Section 11-65-2."; and
6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
7 following:
8 "Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
9 changing Section 11-65-2 as follows:
10 (65 ILCS 5/11-65-2) (from Ch. 24, par. 11-65-2)
11 Sec. 11-65-2. Every city which has a population exceeding
12 75,000; and every city with a population of 12,500 or more
13 but less than 25,000 that (i) is located in a county with a
14 population of 250,000 or more but less than 260,000 and (ii)
15 does not levy a property tax; has the power to acquire,
16 construct, manage, control, maintain, and operate within its
17 corporate limits a municipal convention hall or halls, with
18 all necessary adjuncts thereto.

20 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
21 becoming law.".
