1 AN ACT to amend the Criminal Code of 1961 by changing
2 Section 19-2.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by
6 changing Section 19-2 as follows:
7 (720 ILCS 5/19-2) (from Ch. 38, par. 19-2)
8 Sec. 19-2. Possession of burglary tools.
9 (a) A person commits the offense of possession of
10 burglary tools when he or she possesses any key, tool,
11 instrument, device, or any explosive, suitable for use in
12 breaking into a building, housetrailer, watercraft, aircraft,
13 motor vehicle as defined in The Illinois Vehicle Code,
14 railroad car, or any depository designed for the safekeeping
15 of property, or any part thereof, with intent to enter any
16 such place and with intent to commit therein a felony or
17 theft.
18 (b) Sentence.
19 Possession of burglary tools in violation of this Section
20 is a Class 4 felony.
