1 AN ACT to amend the Counties Code by changing Section
2 1-6001.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by changing
6 Section 1-6001.
7 (55 ILCS 5/1-6001) (from Ch. 34, par. 1-6001)
8 Sec. 1-6001. Venue of suits by or against county. All
9 actions, local or transitory, against any county, may be
10 commenced and prosecuted to final judgment in the circuit
11 court in the county against which the action is brought. Any
12 action, local or transitory, in which a any county is shall
13 be plaintiff, may be commenced and prosecuted to final
14 judgment in the county in which the defendant in such action
15 resides.
