1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Municipal Code by changing
2 Section 5-1-2.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
6 changing Section 5-1-2 as follows:
7 (65 ILCS 5/5-1-2) (from Ch. 24, par. 5-1-2)
8 Sec. 5-1-2. Effect of this Article. Upon this Article
9 5 becoming effective in any city or village, that city or
10 village and its officers shall be vested with all the rights,
11 privileges, powers and immunities conferred by Article 3 or
12 4, as the case may be, in force at the time such city or
13 village adopted this Article 5, including the procedures for
14 elections therein described, the officers therein named and
15 the duties and liabilities therein set forth, except as
16 modified by this Article 5.
17 After this Article 5 becomes effective in any city or
18 village which was operating under Article 4 at the time of
19 adoption of this Article 5, the provisions of Section 4-5-13
20 relating to filing certain ordinances for public inspection
21 shall no longer apply in that such city or village.
