1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Municipal Code by changing
2 Section 2-1-1.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
6 changing Section 2-1-1 as follows:
7 (65 ILCS 5/2-1-1) (from Ch. 24, par. 2-1-1)
8 Sec. 2-1-1. Effect of incorporation under the Code.
9 All courts shall take judicial notice of the existence of all
10 cities and villages incorporated under this Code, of the
11 changes made in their territory, and of the change of
12 incorporation of any municipality from its former
13 incorporation to its incorporation under this Code. From the
14 time of incorporation, or change of incorporation under this
15 Code, this Code shall apply to such cities and villages. Laws
16 in conflict with this Code shall no longer apply to such
17 cities and villages. But laws not inconsistent with the
18 provisions of this Code shall continue in force and apply to
19 any such city or village, the same as if the incorporation or
20 change of incorporation has not taken place.
