1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Public Aid Code by changing
2 Section 5-2.1a.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
6 changing Section 5-2.1a as follows:
7 (305 ILCS 5/5-2.1a)
8 Sec. 5-2.1a. Treatment of trust amounts. To the extent
9 required by federal law, the Illinois Department shall
10 provide by rule for the consideration of trusts and similar
11 legal instruments or devices established by a person in the
12 Illinois Department's determination of the person's
13 eligibility for and the amount of assistance provided under
14 this Article. This Section shall be enforced by the
15 Department of Human Services, acting as successor to the
16 Department of Public Aid under the Department of Human
17 Services Act.
