91_HB0842eng HB0842 Engrossed LRB9102028DHmg 1 AN ACT to amend the Property Tax Code by changing Section 2 15-105. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Property Tax Code is amended by changing 6 Section 15-105 as follows: 7 (35 ILCS 200/15-105) 8 Sec. 15-105. Park and conservation districts. All 9 property within a park or conservation district with 10 2,000,000 or more inhabitants and owned by that district is 11 exempt, as is all property located outside the district but 12 owned by it and used as a nursery, garden, or farm for the 13 growing of shrubs, trees, flowers and plants for use in 14 beautifying, maintaining and operating playgrounds, parks, 15 parkways, public grounds, and buildings owned or controlled 16 by the district. 17 Also exempt is all property belonging to any park or 18 conservation district with less than 2,000,000 inhabitants, 19 and all property leased to a park district for $1 or less per 20 year and used exclusively as open space for recreational 21 purposes, not exceeding 20 acres per leasein the aggregate22for each district. 23 (Source: P.A. 78-371; 88-455.) 24 Section 99.
