1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Procurement Code by changing
2 Section 50-1.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Procurement Code is amended by
6 changing Section 50-1 as follows:
7 (30 ILCS 500/50-1)
8 Sec. 50-1. Purpose. It is the express duty of all chief
9 procurement officers, State purchasing officers, and their
10 designees is to maximize the value of the expenditure of
11 public moneys in procuring goods, services, and contracts for
12 the State of Illinois and to act in a manner that maintains
13 the integrity and public trust of State government. In
14 discharging this duty, they are charged to use all available
15 information, reasonable efforts, and reasonable actions to
16 protect, safeguard, and maintain the procurement process of
17 the State of Illinois.
