1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Procurement Code by changing
2 Section 50-30.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Procurement Code is amended by
6 changing Section 50-30 as follows:
7 (30 ILCS 500/50-30)
8 Sec. 50-30. Revolving door prohibition on or after
9 January 15, 1999. Chief procurement officers, associate
10 procurement officers, State purchasing officers, their
11 designees whose principal duties are directly related to
12 State procurement, and executive officers confirmed by the
13 Senate are expressly prohibited for a period of 2 years after
14 terminating an affected position from engaging in any
15 procurement activity relating to the State agency most
16 recently employing them in an affected position for a period
17 of at least 6 months. The prohibition includes but is not
18 limited to: lobbying the procurement process; specifying;
19 bidding; proposing bid, proposal, or contract documents; on
20 their own behalf or on behalf of any firm, partnership,
21 association, or corporation. This Section applies only to
22 persons who terminate an affected position on or after
23 January 15, 1999.
