Amend House Bill 557 on page 1, 3 lines 2 and 6, by replacing "4.7 and 4.11" each time it 4 appears with "4.7, 4.11, and 4.13"; and 5 on page 5, by inserting below line 3 the following: 6 "(70 ILCS 2605/4.13) (from Ch. 42, par. 323.13) 7 Sec. 4.13. The following offices and places of 8 employment, insofar as there are or may be such in the 9 sanitary district, shall not be included within the 10 classified civil service: All elective officers, the director 11 of personnel, the clerk, treasurer, chief engineer, attorney, 12 general superintendent, chief of maintenance and operation, 13 purchasing agent, director of research and development, 14 director of information technology, and secretary and 15 administrative aide to the president of the board of 16 trustees, members of the civil service board and special 17 examiners appointed by the civil service board and the 18 secretaries to the officers and individual trustees, and 19 those employed for periods not exceeding 75years under any 20 apprentice program, training or intern programs funded wholly 21 or in part by grants from the State of Illinois or the United 22 States of America. Further, apprentices in a sanitary -2- LRB9101158MWgcam01 1 district apprenticeship program for the trades shall not be 2 included within the classified civil service. Entry into a 3 sanitary district apprenticeship program for the trades shall 4 be by lottery. Graduates of a sanitary district 5 apprenticeship program for the trades shall be given 6 additional points, in an amount to be determined by the 7 Director of Personnel, on examinations for civil service 8 journeymen positions in the trades at the sanitary district. 9 (Source: P.A. 87-370; 87-1146.)".
