1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 523
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 523 on page 2, line
3 33, by inserting after "business." the following:
4 "The tax may not be imposed on the sale of food for human
5 consumption that is to be consumed off the premises where it
6 is sold (other than alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, and
7 food that has been prepared for immediate consumption) and
8 prescription and nonprescription medicines, drugs, medical
9 appliances, and insulin, urine testing materials, syringes,
10 and needles used by diabetics."; and
11 on page 3, by inserting below line 29 the following:
12 "No municipality may impose a tax under this Section
13 unless the municipality also imposes a tax at the same rate
14 under Section 8-11-1.4 of this Code."; and
15 on page 6, line 9, by inserting after "service." the
16 following:
17 "The tax may not be imposed on the sale of food for human
18 consumption that is to be consumed off the premises where it
19 is sold (other than alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, and
20 food that has been prepared for immediate consumption) and
21 prescription and nonprescription medicines, drugs, medical
22 appliances, and insulin, urine testing materials, syringes,
23 and needles used by diabetics."; and
