91_HB0518 LRB9102741DHmg 1 AN ACT to amend the Fish and Aquatic Life Code by 2 amending Section 10-85. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Fish and Aquatic Life Code is amended by 6 changing Section 10-85 as follows: 7 (515 ILCS 5/10-85) (from Ch. 56, par. 10-85) 8 Sec. 10-85. Ice fishing. Fish may be taken through the 9 ice by the use of not more than 32poles and lines or 3210 tipups at any one time and there may be not more than 2 hooks 11 attached to each line. Any hole cut in the ice for the 12 purpose of taking fish shall be not more than 12 inches in 13 diameter. Any shelter placed or used on ice of any of the 14 public waters of this State shall be a portable fishing 15 shelter constructed of a frame-work of metal or wood covered 16 with canvas, paper, wood, plastic material, or any similar 17 material and that shelter shall have the name and address of 18 the owner attached to it. Following March 1 of each ice 19 fishing season the shelter must be removed at the end of each 20 fishing day and shall not be left unattended at any time 21 after that date. 22 All fishing devices placed through the ice shall be 23 attended and kept under the observation of the person having 24 so placed the device at all times. 25 (Source: P.A. 89-66, eff. 1-1-96.) 26 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 27 becoming law.
