1 AN ACT to amend the Citizens Utility Board Act by
2 changing Section 14.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Citizens Utility Board Act is amended by
6 changing Section 14 as follows:

10 Sec. 14. Board officers. (1) Election. The interim
11 board of directors and the board of directors, at the first
12 regular meeting of each at which a quorum is present, shall
13 elect by a majority vote of the directors present and voting
14 a president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. The
15 board may elect such other officers as it deems necessary.
16 (2) Term of office. (a) Board officers shall begin
17 serving immediately upon their election and their term of
18 office shall be one year. After his or her term of office has
19 expired, a board officer shall continue to serve until his or
20 her successor is elected and certified.
21 (b) If a board office is vacant, the board shall elect a
22 successor to serve out the term of the office.
23 (3) Powers and duties. Board officers shall exercise
24 powers and perform duties as prescribed by this Act or as
25 delegated to them by the board.
