1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 7
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 7 as follows:
3 on page 2, by replacing lines 26 and 27 with the following:
4 "scholarship at any time thereafter (i) before the expiration
5 of his or her term for a member of the Senate or (ii) through
6 June 1, 1999 for a member of the House of Representatives,
7 and the person so"; and
8 on page 2, by replacing lines 30 through 32 with the
9 following:
10 "for which a member has made no nomination (i) prior to the
11 expiration of the term for which he or she was elected for a
12 member of the Senate or (ii) on or before June 1, 1999 for a
13 member of the House of Representatives shall lapse upon the
14 expiration of that term."; and
15 on page 2, line 33, after "nominated", by inserting "by a
16 member of the House of Representatives"; and
17 on page 3, line 2, after "awarded", by inserting "through a
18 nomination by a member of the House of Representatives"; and
19 on page 3, by replacing lines 9 and 10 with the following:
20 "Nominations, under Section 30-9, showing the name and";

1 on page 3, line 21, after "made", by inserting "by a member
2 of the House of Representatives"; and
3 on page 3, by replacing lines 30 and 31 with the following:
4 "member, who may name another person for the scholarship.
5 However, a member of the House of Representatives may name
6 another person for the scholarship on or before but not after
7 June 1, 1999. In the case of a"; and
8 on page 4, line 10, after "nomination", by inserting ", if
9 made by a member of the House of Representatives,"; and
10 on page 4, by replacing line 13 with the following:
11 "second nomination, which is received on or before June 1,
12 1999 for a second nomination by a member of the House of
13 Representatives, the State"; and
14 on page 4, by replacing line 22 with the following:
15 "nominated by a member of the House of Representatives to
16 receive or otherwise be awarded through a nomination by a
17 member of the House of Representatives all or any part"; and
18 on page 5, line 7, after "scholarship", by inserting ", if
19 made by a member of the House of Representatives,"; and
20 on page 5, by replacing line 23 with the following:
21 "fill a vacancy must (i) if made by a member of the House of
22 Representatives, be made on or before June 1, 1999 and (ii)
23 be"; and
24 on page 6, by replacing line 10 with "scholarships shall be";
25 and
26 on page 6, line 16, after "nomination", by inserting "by a
27 member of the House of Representatives"; and
28 on page 6, line 18, after "scholarship", by inserting "that
29 may be awarded through a nomination by a member of the House
30 of Representatives"; and
