Provides that before a prospective resident's admission to a nursing home the nursing home shall advise the prospective resident to consult a physician to determine whether the prospective resident should obtain a pneumonia shot. Provides that once every 12 months a nursing home shall advise each resident of the nursing home to consult a physician to determine whether the resident should obtain a pneumonia shot. Effective immediately. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Adds reference to: 225 ILCS 60/64 new Deletes everything. Amends the Nursing Home Care Act and the Medical Practice Act. Requires that before a prospective resident's admission to a nursing home the nursing home shall advise the prospective resident to consult a physician about obtaining a pneumonia shot. Requires physicians to advice their patients 65 or older to obtain a pneumonia shot at least once every 12 months unless medically contraindicated. Effective immediately. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 2.
