Amends the Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987 to provide that payments for services rendered by a physician assistant shall be made to his or her employer if payment would have been made had the services been provided by a physician. Allows a supervising physician to supervise up to 2 (now, one) physician assistants. Sets forth additional grounds for discipline of a licensee under the Act. Amends the Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987 and the Illinois Controlled Substances Act to allow physician assistants to prescribe Schedule III, IV, and V controlled substances in accordance with written guidelines set by rule of the Department. Further amends the Illinois Controlled Substances Act to expand the definition of "practitioner" to include a physician assistant. Amends the Illinois Clinical Laboratory and Blood Bank Act to add physician assistants to the list of persons who may authorize a clinical laboratory to examine specimens. Amends the Pharmacy Practice Act of 1987 to state that physician assistants have limited prescriptive authority under the new Act. Amends the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act to add physician assistants to the list of persons and entities that must report cases of suspected child abuse. Effective immediately.
