Short description: PUB AID-CHILD SUPPORT PILOT Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that the Department of Human Services shall develop and implement by rule pilot projects, lasting no less than 3 years, to test the effects of paying to families receiving cash assistance under this Article either (i) two-thirds of the monthly child support collected on behalf of each member of the assistance unit or (ii) the first $50 paid as monthly support on each judicial or administrative child support order on behalf of a member of the assistance unit, whichever is greater. Provides that the child support passed through to a family shall not affect the family's eligibility for assistance until the family's non-exempt income and the child support passed through to the family equal the federal poverty level, at which point cash assistance to the family may be terminated. Provides that no later than 6 months after the conclusion of the pilot projects, the Department shall report its findings and any recommendations to the General Assembly. Effective immediately.
