House Sponsors: WOJCIK. Senate Sponsors: CRONIN-LAUZEN Short description: LOTTERY-DEFERRED FUND-INTEREST Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Lottery Law. Provides that proceeds from bonds purchased and interest accumulated as a result of a grand prize multi-state game ticket that goes unclaimed will be transferred upon the termination of the claim period directly from the Deferred Lottery Prize Winners Trust Fund to each respective multi-state partner state according to its contribution ratio. Prohibits selling a lottery ticket or share to a minor under 18 years of age. Prohibits purchasing a lottery ticket or share for a minor under 18 years of age. Prohibits making a gift of a lottery ticket or share to a minor under 18 years of age. Repeals the Section concerning payment of prizes to persons under 18 years of age. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Further amends the Illinois Lottery Law. Provides that no minor under 18 years of age shall aid and abet in the purchase of lottery tickets or shares by a minor under 18 years of age. Reduces the penalty for a minor under 18 years of age who violates the prohibition against providing a lottery ticket or share to a minor under 18 years of age from a Class B misdemeanor for a first offense and a Class 4 felony for a subsequent offense to a petty offense.
