1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to send
3 their sincere condolences to the family of Charles H. Morris
4 of Sullivan, Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Charles Morris was born on August 9, 1910 in
6 Fordsville, Kentucky; his parents were Ephriam and Emma Dodd
7 Morris; Mr. Morris worked as millwright at Archer Daniels
8 Midland Co. in Decatur, Illinois, and was later employed at
9 Farmers Grain (Race Horse Flats) in Dalton City, Illinois;
10 and
11 WHEREAS, Mr. Morris was a member of the Dalton City
12 Christian Church, Bethany Masonic Lodge 884 and served as
13 Dora Township road commissioner;
14 WHEREAS, Charles Morris married Marie I. Nihiser on
15 November 29, 1929; and
16 WHEREAS, Charles Morris is survived by his loving wife
17 Marie; his sons Charles and James; his daughters Edwina Ellis
18 and husband James; Vickie Sue Cartee and husband Larry; his
19 sisters Eva Burkhead, Lorene Mathias, and Nell Stanafa; his
20 sister-in-law Effie Morris; his eight grandchildren and 12
21 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
23 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his
24 family and friends, the death of Charles Morris of Sullivan,
25 Illinois; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to the family of Charles Morris.
