90_SB1760 Makes appropriations for the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Office of the State Treasurer for fiscal year 1999. Effective July 1, 1998. LRB9008729PTsb LRB9008729PTsb 1 AN ACT making appropriations to the Office of the State 2 Treasurer for ordinary and contingent expenses. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 1. The following named amounts, or so much of 6 those amounts as may be necessary, respectively, for the 7 objects and purposes named in this Section, are appropriated 8 to meet the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Office of 9 the State Treasurer: 10 For Personal Services .......................... $ 4,320,089 11 For Extra Help.................................. 0 12 For Employee Retirement Contribution (pickup)... 172,804 13 For State Contributions to State 14 Employees' Retirement System ................. 414,729 15 For State Contribution to 16 Social Security .............................. 331,987 17 For Contractual Services ....................... 837,267 18 For Travel ..................................... 82,680 19 For Commodities ................................ 28,805 20 For Printing ................................... 23,750 21 For Equipment .................................. 28,701 22 For Electronic Data Processing ................. 671,500 23 For Telecommunications Services ................ 149,350 24 For Operation of Automotive Equipment .......... 6,540 25 Lump sum for SAMS related system 26 conversion costs ............................. 400,000 27 Total $7,468,202 28 Section 2. The amount of $6,000,000, or so much of that 29 amount as may be necessary, is appropriated to the State 30 Treasurer from the Bank Services Trust Fund for the purpose 31 of making payments to financial institutions for banking -2- LRB9008729PTsb 1 services pursuant to the State Treasurer's Bank Services 2 Trust Fund Act. 3 Section 3. The amount of $3,800,000, or so much of that 4 amount as may be necessary, is appropriated to the State 5 Treasurer for the purpose of making refunds of overpayments 6 of estate tax and accrued interest on those overpayments, if 7 any, and payment of certain statutory costs of assessment. 8 Section 4. The amount of $3,000,000, or so much of that 9 amount as may be necessary, is appropriated to the State 10 Treasurer for the purpose of making refunds of accrued 11 interest on protested tax cases. 12 Section 5. The amount of $15,000,000, or so much of that 13 amount as may be necessary, is appropriated to the State 14 Treasurer from the Transfer Tax Collection Distributive Fund 15 for the purpose of making payments to counties pursuant to 16 Section 13b of the Illinois Estate and Generation-Skipping 17 Transfer Tax Act. 18 Section 6. The amount of $500,000, or so much of that 19 amount as may be necessary, is appropriated to the State 20 Treasurer from the Matured Bond and Coupon Fund for payment 21 of matured bonds and interest coupons pursuant to Section 6u 22 of the State Finance Act. 23 Section 7. The following named amounts, or so much of 24 those amounts as may be necessary, respectively, for the 25 objects and purposes named in this Section, are appropriated 26 to the State Treasurer for the payment of interest on and 27 retirement of State bonded indebtedness: 28 For payment of principal and interest on any and all 29 bonds issued pursuant to the Anti-Pollution Bond Act, the -3- LRB9008729PTsb 1 Transportation Bond Act, the Capital Development Bond Act of 2 1972, the School Construction Bond Act, the Illinois Coal and 3 Energy Development Bond Act, and the General Obligation Bond 4 Act: 5 From the General Bond Retirement and 6 Interest Fund: 7 Principal ................................... $419,976,000 8 Interest .................................... 281,800,000 9 Total $701,776,000 10 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 11 1, 1998.
