90_SB1119 65 ILCS 5/11-1-8 from Ch. 24, par. 11-1-8 Amends the Illinois Municipal Code concerning the establishment of municipal programs addressing the problem of juvenile delinquency. Makes a technical change. SDS/bill0046/cep SDS/bill0046/cep 1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Municipal Code by changing 2 Section 11-1-8. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by 6 changing Section 11-1-8 as follows: 7 (65 ILCS 5/11-1-8) (from Ch. 24, par. 11-1-8) 8 Sec. 11-1-8. The corporate authorities of each 9 municipality may: 10 (a) Conduct programs and carry on and coordinate 11 activities for the prevention, reduction or control of 12 juvenile delinquency within the municipality; 13 (b) Cooperate, coordinate or act jointly with the State 14 of Illinois or any other municipality, county or public or 15 private agency in conducting programs and carrying on and 16 coordinating activities for the prevention, reduction or 17 control of juvenile delinquency, including but not limited to 18 the establishment, support and maintenance of individual or 19 joint public or private agencies or neighborhood 20 accountability boards to conduct such programs and carry on 21 such activities in cooperation with law enforcement officers 22 through referral of juvenile offenders; 23 (c) Spend municipal funds appropriated for the purposes 24 of this Section; 25 (d) Make application for, accept and use money, 26 financial grants or contributions of services from any public 27 or private source made available for the purposes of this 28 Section; 29 (e) All officials, agencies and employees of a 30 municipality, which has exercised the authority granted by 31 this Section, shall cooperate in so far as possible with the -2- SDS/bill0046/cep 1 corporate authorities in coordinating and conducting 2 activities and programs to carry out all the purposes of this 3 Section. 4 (Source: P.A. 80-853.)
