LRB9003462SMmb LRB9003462SMmb 1 AN ACT to amend the Mental Health and Developmental 2 Disabilities Code by changing Section 1-106. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Mental Health and Developmental 6 Disabilities Code is amended by changing Section 1-106 as 7 follows: 8 (405 ILCS 5/1-106) (from Ch. 91 1/2, par. 1-106) 9 Sec. 1-106. "Developmental disability" means a 10 disability which is attributable to: (a) mental retardation, 11 cerebral palsy, epilepsy or autism; or to (b) any other 12 condition which results in impairment similar to that caused 13 by mental retardation and which requires services similar to 14 those required by mentally retarded persons. TheSuch15 disability must originate before the age of 18 years, be 16 expected to continue indefinitely, and constitute a 17 substantial handicap. 18 (Source: P.A. 80-1414.)
