Provides that it is an unlawful practice within the meaning of this Act for a retail seller to refuse to refund a deposit paid for special order merchandise, upon demand of the person who paid the deposit, if the merchandise is not received by the seller within a reasonable amount of time. The Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business 6 Practices Act is amended by adding Section 2EE as follows: 7 (815 ILCS 505/2EE new) 8 Sec. 2EE. Refund of deposits. It is unlawful for any 9 person who is a retail seller to fail to refund a deposit 10 paid to the retail seller for special order merchandise, upon 11 demand of the person who paid the deposit, if the merchandise 12 is not received by the retail seller within a reasonable 13 amount of time. A person who fails to refund a deposit in 14 these circumstances commits an unlawful practice within the 15 meaning of this Act.
