1 AN ACT to amend the Workers' Compensation Act by changing
2 Section 4a-1.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Workers' Compensation Act is amended by
6 changing Section 4a-1 as follows:
7 (820 ILCS 305/4a-1) (from Ch. 48, par. 138.4a-1)
8 Sec. 4a-1. Self-Insurers Advisory Board. The
9 Self-Insurers Advisory Board is hereby established within the
10 Commission for the purpose of providing for the continuation
11 of workers' compensation and occupational disease benefits
12 due and unpaid or interrupted due to the inability of an
13 insolvent self-insurer as defined in subsection (d) of
14 Section 4a-2 to meet its compensation obligations when the
15 employers' financial resources, security deposit, guaranty
16 agreements, surety agreements and excess insurance are either
17 inadequate or not immediately accessible for the payment of
18 benefits, and to review and recommend to the Chairman of the
19 Commission the disposition of all initial and renewal
20 applications to self-insure filed by private self-insurers
21 under this Act and the Workers' Occupational Diseases Act.
