Amend Senate Bill 316 on page 1, 3 line 2, after "25" by inserting "and adding Section 25.1"; 4 and 5 on page 1, line 6, after "25" by inserting "and adding 6 Section 25.1"; and 7 on page 1, line 18, after "12-4.7," by inserting "12-7.4,"; 8 and 9 on page 1, line 19, after "21-21," by inserting "12-21.6, 10 12-32,"; and 11 on page 1, line 21, after "24-1.2," by inserting "24-1.5,"; 12 and 13 on page 1, line 22, after "1961" by inserting the following: 14 "those provided in Section 4 of the Wrongs to Children Act; 15 those provided in Section 53 of the Criminal Jurisprudence 16 Act;"; and 17 on page 1, line 22, after "5.1," by inserting "5.2, 7,"; and 18 on page 1, after line 28, by inserting the following: 19 "(225 ILCS 46/25.1 new) -2- LRB9002416LDdvam04 1 Sec. 25.1. Duplicate background check not required. 2 (a) An employer need not initiate an additional criminal 3 background check for an employee if the employer initiated a 4 criminal background check for the employee after January 1, 5 1996 and prior to the effective date of this amendatory Act 6 of 1997. This subsection (a) applies only to persons 7 employed prior to the effective date of this amendatory Act 8 of 1997. 9 (b) Any person newly employed on or after the effective 10 date of this amendatory Act of 1997 must receive a background 11 check as required by Section 30.".
