1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Howard Dean
3 Cray is retiring from Gardner-Denver after 45 years of
4 service; and
5 WHEREAS, He was born in Quincy on March 12, 1935, the
6 tenth child of Ralph and Claire McClean Cray; he was named
7 after his mother's favorite baseball player, Dizzy Dean; and
8 WHEREAS, He attended Western Illinois Teacher's College
9 and the University of Illinois, where he became an engineer;
10 and
11 WHEREAS, He started at Gardner-Denver during his junior
12 year of high school and remained part time for three years;
13 he has been a full-time engineer since 1957; and
14 WHEREAS, Howard and his wife Marcia have five children,
15 Andrea Miller, Barbara Lokaitis, Cris Cray, Tim Cray, and
16 Mary Farnsworth and five grandchildren, Megan, Allison,
17 Clark, Eric, and James; and
18 WHEREAS, Howard intends to spend his retirement doing
19 woodworking, making beer, attending Quincy University soccer
20 games, and working in the garden; he's most looking forward
21 to traveling; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
24 extend our sincere wishes for a long, happy, and healthy
25 retirement to Howard Dean Cray; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to Howard Dean Cray.
