1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Reverend J.P. White, Founder and Pastor of
3 the Greater Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in
4 Chicago, Illinois is celebrating his fortieth year in the
5 ministry; and
6 WHEREAS, The church is also celebrating its fortieth
7 year; recently, the name of the street where the church is
8 located was changed from Kildare Avenue to Greater Mount
9 Pleasant Drive; and
10 WHEREAS, The Reverend J. P. White hosted the Illinois
11 National Baptist State Convention in 1994; he is Treasurer of
12 the Christian Fellowship Baptist Association of Illinois; and
13 he is Spiritual Advisor to the Youth Ministry of the
14 Christian Fellowship Baptist Association of Illinois; and
15 WHEREAS, The Pastor and the church will hold a special
16 celebration in November of 1997 to commend their fortieth
17 anniversary; and
18 WHEREAS, Reverend J.P. White will be joined by his loving
19 family, including: his wife Ruby; his daughter Cynthia
20 Taylor, her husband Reverend Joel Taylor, and their children
21 Jasper and Jessica; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
24 congratulate Reverend J.P. White of the Greater Mount
25 Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church of Chicago, Illinois as
26 he, and the church, celebrate forty years of Christian
27 ministry and outreach to the people of Chicago; and be it
28 further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to the Reverend J.P. White of Chicago, Illinois.
