1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3778
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 3778 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT to amend the Adoption Act by changing Section
5 3."; and
6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
7 following:
8 "Section 5. The Adoption Act is amended by changing
9 Section 3 as follows:
10 (750 ILCS 50/3) (from Ch. 40, par. 1504)
11 Sec. 3. Who may be adopted. A male or female child, or an
12 adult, may be adopted, provided the other conditions set
13 forth in this Act are met, and further provided, with respect
14 to an adult, that the such adult has resided in the home of
15 the persons intending to adopt him at any time for more than
16 2 years continuously preceding the commencement of an
17 adoption proceeding, or in the alternative that the such
18 persons are related to him within a degree set forth in the
19 definition of a related child in Section 1 of this Act.
