Appropriates $50,000,000 to the State Board of Education

1 AN ACT making an appropriation to the State Board of
2 Education.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The sum of $50,000,000, or so much of that
6 amount as may be necessary, is appropriated to the State
7 Board of Education to implement and administer a class size
8 reduction grant program and to award grants to school
9 districts that establish and implement a class size reduction
10 program for K-5 classes meeting the statutory criteria
11 established for those programs.
12 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July
13 1, 1998.
