Amends the Northeastern Illinois Planning Act. Provides
that membership of any organization designated as the
metropolitan planning organization for northeastern Illinois
and any subcommittee of the Northeastern Illinois Planning
Commission shall be reflective of the distribution of
population in that region. Requires membership to reflect
the diversity of stakeholders in the transportation system of
the region.

1 AN ACT to amend the Northeastern Illinois Planning Act by
2 adding Section 15.5.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Northeastern Illinois Planning Act is
6 amended by adding Section 15.5 as follows:
7 (70 ILCS 1705/15.5 new)
8 Sec. 15.5. Subcommittees; metropolitan planning
9 organization. The membership of any organization designated
10 as the metropolitan planning organization for purposes of
11 Section 134 of the federal Highways Act, for northeastern
12 Illinois, and any subcommittee of the Northeastern Illinois
13 Planning Commission, shall be reflective of the distribution
14 of population in that region. Membership shall also reflect
15 the diversity of stakeholders in the transportation system of
16 the region.
