1 AN ACT to amend the Environmental Protection Act by
2 changing Section 17.6.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Environmental Protection Act is amended
6 by changing Section 17.6 as follows:
7 (415 ILCS 5/17.6) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 1017.6)
8 Sec. 17.6. Barium, fluoride, and radionuclide contaminant
9 levels. The maximum contaminant levels of barium, fluoride,
10 and radionuclides (including radium 226, radium 228, uranium,
11 radon, gross alpha particle activity and gross beta activity)
12 in Illinois public water supplies shall be the enforceable
13 maximum concentration limits promulgated from time to time by
14 the Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
15 to implement Sections 1401 and 1412 of the federal Safe
16 Drinking Water Act. Board regulations prescribing activity
17 and contaminant levels under this Section shall be adopted
18 pursuant to the provisions of the Illinois Administrative
19 Procedure Act relating to peremptory rulemaking.
