(20 ILCS 2605/2605-304) Sec. 2605-304. Prohibited persons portal. (a) Within 90 days after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 102nd General Assembly, the Illinois State Police shall establish a portal for use by federal, State, or local law enforcement agencies, including Offices of the State's Attorneys and the Office of the Attorney General to capture a report of persons whose Firearm Owner's Identification Cards have been revoked or suspended. The portal is for law enforcement purposes only. (b) The Illinois State Police shall include in the report the reason the person's Firearm Owner's Identification Card was subject to revocation or suspension, to the extent allowed by law, consistent with Sections 8 and 8.2 of the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act. (c) The Illinois State Police shall indicate whether the person subject to the revocation or suspension of his or her Firearm Owner's Identification Card has surrendered his or her revoked or suspended Firearm Owner's Identification Card and whether the person has completed a Firearm Disposition Record required under Section 9.5 of the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act. The Illinois State Police shall make reasonable efforts to make this information available on the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System (LEADS). (d) The Illinois State Police shall provide updates of information related to an individual's current Firearm Owner's Identification Card revocation or suspension status, including compliance under Section 9.5 of the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act, in the Illinois State Police's Law Enforcement Agencies Data System. (e) Records in this portal are exempt from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act. (f) The Illinois State Police may adopt rules necessary to implement this Section.
