Sec. 2.
Any public officer of the state may cause any or all records,
papers or documents made or kept by him to be photographed,
microphotographed or reproduced on film or by other processes which
accurately reproduce or form a durable medium for reproducing the
original. The reproduction of records by any photographic,
microphotographic or silver halide processes, when such reproductions are
to serve as permanent records, shall comply with the regulations and
standards of the State Records Commission. Other durable media using
machine readable techniques may be used as an alternative to film, provided
the medium is non-erasable and cannot be altered once the original document
has been recorded.
