2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Section |
5 | | 10-22.34b as follows:
|
6 | | (105 ILCS 5/10-22.34b) (from Ch. 122, par. 10-22.34b)

7 | | Sec. 10-22.34b. Utilization of noncertificated personnel. |
8 | | To utilize noncertificated persons, under the the direction of |
9 | | a
certificated teacher, for providing specialized instruction |
10 | | related to a
course assigned to the certificated teacher on a |
11 | | regular basis, not
otherwise readily available in the immediate |
12 | | school environment, in the
fields for which they are |
13 | | particularly qualified by reason of their
specialized |
14 | | knowledge or skills. The duration of the instruction shall
be |
15 | | determined by the certificated teacher under whose direction |
16 | | the
program is conducted in view of the educational need to be |
17 | | satisfied.

18 | | Before a noncertificated person may be utilized for such |
19 | | specialized
instruction, the school board must secure the |
20 | | written approval of the regional
superintendent of schools as |
21 | | to the qualifications of the
particular noncertificated |
22 | | person, the particular instruction he is to
provide, the |
23 | | specific functions to be served, the total number of hours
he |
