Amends the Public Water Supply Regulation Act. Provides that the owners or official custodians of public water supplies shall comply with the recommendations on optimal fluoridation for community water levels as proposed and adopted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Effective immediately.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Public Water Supply Regulation Act is |
5 | | amended by changing Section 7a as follows:
|
6 | | (415 ILCS 40/7a) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 121g1)

7 | | Sec. 7a.
In order to protect the dental health of all |
8 | | citizens, especially
children, the owners or official |
9 | | custodians of public water supplies shall comply with the |
10 | | Department shall promulgate rules to provide for the addition
|
11 | | of fluoride to public water supplies by the owners or official |
12 | | custodians
thereof. Such rules shall incorporate the |
13 | | recommendations on optimal fluoridation for community water |
14 | | levels as proposed and adopted by the U.S. Department of Health |
15 | | and Human Services.
