Amends the Task Force on Sustainable Transportation Funding Act. Provides that the Task Force shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly by May 1, 2015 (rather than June 1, 2015). Effective immediately.

| 1 | | AN ACT concerning transportation.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Task Force on Sustainable Transportation |
| 5 | | Funding Act is amended by changing Section 15 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (605 ILCS 135/15) |
| 7 | | (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2016)
|
| 8 | | Sec. 15. Duties; report. |
| 9 | | (a) The Task Force shall: |
| 10 | | (1) analyze the current trends between the |
| 11 | | infrastructure needs of Illinois and the revenue received |
| 12 | | from federal and State gas taxes and the level of highway |
| 13 | | and road investment that would reduce congestion, keep |
| 14 | | Illinois' economy competitive, and keep drivers safe; |
| 15 | | (2) research and recommend possible alterations and |
| 16 | | alternatives for how to modernize the State of Illinois' |
| 17 | | system of financing maintenance, improvements, and |
| 18 | | expansion of its public infrastructure systems, including, |
| 19 | | but not limited to, best practices in other states, |
| 20 | | user-based alternatives, or other equitable and |
| 21 | | sustainable methods for funding transportation; |
| 22 | | (3) make recommendations to the Department of |
| 23 | | Transportation regarding how to implement possible |
