Amends the Unemployment Insurance Act. Provides that an individual is not disqualified from receiving unemployment benefits by reason of being entitled to disability benefits related to the person's military service when the military service disability is determined to be greater than 20%. Effective immediately.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Unemployment Insurance Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 406.5 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (820 ILCS 405/406.5 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 406.5. Military service disability; benefit |
| 8 | | eligibility. An individual otherwise eligible for benefits |
| 9 | | shall not be disqualified from receiving benefits by reason of |
| 10 | | being entitled to disability benefits related to the person's |
| 11 | | military service when the service-related disability is |
| 12 | | determined to be 20% or greater.

| 13 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 14 | | becoming law.
