2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Susan (nee Waters) Osta of Forest Park, |
4 | | who passed away on May 20, 2014; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Susan Osta was born on April 26, 1943 and raised |
6 | | in Syracuse, New York; she attended Most Holy Rosary School in |
7 | | Syracuse and attended nursing school in Boston, Massachusetts; |
8 | | and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Susan Osta moved to Chicago in 1966 and began a |
10 | | nursing career in pediatrics; in 1973, she and her husband |
11 | | settled in Oak Park; after retiring from nursing, she continued |
12 | | to serve and care for others as a nanny, volunteer, and |
13 | | grandmother; she was an active member of the Suburban |
14 | | Fellowship Center in Forest Park for nearly 28 years, and she |
15 | | advocated for those with little voice: children, the homeless, |
16 | | and people in need; and

17 | | WHEREAS, Susan Osta was the wife of James; the mother of |
18 | | Kathleen (Tony Smith), Mark (Cynthia), and David (Amanda) Osta; |
19 | | the grandmother of Kaelen and Addison Osta Smith, Allison and |
20 | | Jack Osta, and Seth and Ian Osta; the sister of William |
21 | | (Jeanne), Robert (Linda), Barry (Jacqueline), and Peter |
22 | | (Janet) Waters; aunt to many nieces and nephews; and cousin to |
