2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Helen Louise Crew of Chillicothe, who |
4 | | passed away on September 23, 2014; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Helen Crew was born on August 31, 1917 in Medina |
6 | | Township near Chillicothe; her parents were John Adam and Mina |
7 | | Madeline (nee Preston) Bauer; she married Norman D. Crew on |
8 | | December 24, 1940 at the First Presbyterian Church in Peoria; |
9 | | and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Helen Crew was employed at Caterpillar Inc. during |
11 | | World War II; she later worked at Geiger Hardware and Carlisle |
12 | | Drug Store in Chillicothe; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Helen Crew was a member of First United Methodist |
14 | | Church for over 50 years and a member of the Mary Anna Circle; |
15 | | she also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars |
16 | | Auxiliary; and |
17 | | WHEREAS, Helen Crew enjoyed music and sang with the Belles |
18 | | of Harmony; she also loved being outdoors and lived most of her |
19 | | life in the country near Chillicothe; and

20 | | WHEREAS, Helen Crew was preceded in death by her parents; |
