SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Charlotte M. French of Bartonville, who 
4passed away on February 21, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Charlotte French was born on May 13, 1943, in 
6Lewes, Delaware; her parents were George and Evelyn Uphoff 
7Walley; she married Roger D. French on August 27, 1970 in Las 
8Vegas, Nevada; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Charlotte French was employed for the Kroger 
10Company for several years; she also owned and operated her own 
11beauty salon; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Charlotte French was a member of Bartonville 
13Christian Church; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Charlotte French enjoyed traveling, collecting 
15sand and seashells, nature, and spending time with her family, 
16especially her grandchildren; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Charlotte French is survived by her husband; her 
18children, Marty (Cathy) Knowles, Teresa Knowles, and Jason 
19French; her 8 grandchildren; her 7 great-grandchildren; her 
20sister, Wanda (Kermit) Rippey; her uncles, Roland (Barbara)

1Uphoff, Wendell (Wanda) Uphoff, and Marvin (Opal) Uphoff; her 
2aunt, Lucille Bruce; and her many nieces, nephews, 
3great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her 
6family and friends, mourn the passing of Charlotte M. French; 
7and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Charlotte French as an expression of 
10our sympathy.
