|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of John Edward Rednour, Sr., former mayor of |
4 | | Du Quoin, who passed away on December 1, 2013; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, John Rednour, Sr. was born on December 20, 1934 in |
6 | | Percy to Ora Earl "Job" and Margaret (nee Masters) Rednour; he |
7 | | married Wanda Lou Hepp on October 11, 1952 in Pocahontas, |
8 | | Arkansas; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, John Rednour, Sr. started his career as an |
10 | | ironworker before he founded his own business, Rednour Steel, |
11 | | in Cutler; he also had ownership in the newspaper, CaterVend in |
12 | | Du Quoin, in Air Illinois Airlines, in R and H Steel Erectors, |
13 | | and in Du Quoin State Bank; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, John Rednour, Sr. served as mayor of Du Quoin from |
15 | | 1989 to 2013; he was very active in politics and also served as |
16 | | Perry County Commissioner, Chairman of the State of Illinois |
17 | | Democratic Party, Chairman and member of the Illinois State |
18 | | Police Merit Board, and as a top ranking delegate for the |
19 | | Democratic National Committee for more than 30 years; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, John Rednour, Sr. enjoyed traveling throughout |
21 | | the world and was always ready to take a vacation with family |

1 | | and friends; he was a Shriner and a member of the Trico School |
2 | | Board; and |
3 | | WHEREAS, John Rednour, Sr. was preceded in death by his |
4 | | parents, and by his brother, Clifford Rednour; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, John Rednour, Sr. is survived by his wife of 61 |
6 | | years, Wanda; his daughters, Kathy (Jim) Campanella and Janice |
7 | | (Kevin) Pyle; his son, John (Laurie) Rednour, Jr.; his |
8 | | grandchildren, Jordan, Calen, Jill (Jason) VanZandt, Holden, |
9 | | Lauren (Daniel) Cashion, and John Rednour, III; his |
10 | | great-grandchildren, Drayke, Karah, and Mallory Cashion and |
11 | | Jaxon, Jameson, and Jake VanZandt; his brother, Frank |
12 | | (Virginia) Burke; his brothers-in-law, Frank Hepp, Dennis |
13 | | Hepp, and Larry Hepp; his sister-in-law, Minta Hepp; and many |
14 | | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL |
16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
17 | | John Edward Rednour, Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to |
18 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
19 | | further

20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy this resolution be presented |
21 | | to the family of John Rednour, Sr. as an expression of our |
22 | | deepest sympathy.
