SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  William Issac Griffin of Mundelein, who 
4passed away on July 23, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, William Griffin was born on December 11, 1928 in 
6Ardmore, Oklahoma; he married Bernice King on September 8, 1961 
7in Newport, Rhode Island; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, In 1946, William Griffin joined the United States 
9Navy, where he proudly served until his honorable discharge in 
101967; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, After his discharge from the Navy, William Griffin 
12worked at Pepsi-Cola until his retirement in 1995; and
 
13    WHEREAS, William Griffin was an avid amateur radio 
14operator; he enjoyed making and listening to bluegrass music 
15and spending time with his family; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, William Griffin is preceded in death by his sons, 
17Matthew and Joseph; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, William Griffin is survived by his wife of 52 
19years, Bernice; his sons, Bernie (Eileen), Bill, Jr., Charlie,

1Jimmy (Lori), and Mark (Maria); his daughter, Edith; his 10 
2grandchildren; and his 5 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
5family and friends, mourn the passing of William Issac Griffin; 
6and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of William Griffin as an expression of 
9our sympathy.
