| 2 | | WHEREAS, Asthma has reached epidemic proportions in the |
| 3 | | United States, affecting an estimated 26 million people; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Nearly 313,000 children in the State of Illinois |
| 5 | | suffer from asthma; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Asthma is the leading cause of childhood |
| 7 | | hospitalizations in the Illinois; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, The health and well-being of each and every |
| 9 | | citizen of Illinois is important; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, The month of May is Asthma Awareness Month and the |
| 11 | | date of May 7, 2013, is World Asthma Day; therefore, be it
|
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL |
| 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we proclaim May 2013 as |
| 14 | | Asthma Awareness Month in the State of Illinois; and be it |
| 15 | | further

| 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 17 | | presented to the Respiratory Health Association.
