HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that the Illinois House of 
3Representatives pays honor and respect to the truly great 
4individuals who have served our country and, in doing so, have 
5gone above and beyond the call of duty; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Clyde Erb served as a Staff Sergeant in the United 
7States Army, 26th Infantry Division, 328th Infantry Regiment 
8during World War II; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Clyde Erb's company was the first patrol that 
10entered into Germany; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Clyde Erb took part in the infamous Battle of the 
12Bulge; and
  
 
  
13    WHEREAS, During his time of service, Clyde Erb earned the 
14Combat Infantry Badge, the Bronze Star, the 
15European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and Good 
16Conduct Medals; therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
18NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
19we recognize Clyde Erb for his heroic actions during World War 
20II and we thank him for his service to his country; and be it
