| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Mona Johnson of Glen Ellyn | ||||||
| 4 | on the occasion of her retirement as a social worker for | ||||||
| 5 | District 209-Proviso West High School; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Mona Johnson began working for District | ||||||
| 7 | 209-Proviso West High School in Hillside as a social worker in | ||||||
| 8 | 1979; during her career she also spent time as a instructor at | ||||||
| 9 | the College of Dupage in Glen Ellyn from 1989 to 1992, and as a | ||||||
| 10 | private practice psychotherapist in Oak Park from 1981 to 1984; | ||||||
| 11 | and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, During her time with District 209, Mona Johnson | ||||||
| 13 | developed, hired, and supervised the faculty for the | ||||||
| 14 | Truant-Mentor Program, developed and implemented the After | ||||||
| 15 | School Alternative Program, and organized and developed the | ||||||
| 16 | first Crisis Intervention Plan Handbook and Team; and | ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Mona Johnson served in various roles with District | ||||||
| 18 | 209, including Dean of the Alternative Evening School Program, | ||||||
| 19 | Coordinator of the Drug Free and Substance Abuse Program, a | ||||||
| 20 | Negotiation Team Member for the District 209 Teachers' Union in | ||||||
| 21 | 2005, and President of the District 209 Teachers' Union; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Prior to joining District 209-Proviso West High | ||||||
| 2 | School, Mona Johnson worked as a Medical Social Worker at | ||||||
| 3 | Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood from 1977 to 1979, | ||||||
| 4 | and as an Intern Social Worker at Horace Mann Elementary School | ||||||
| 5 | in Oak Park from 1974 to 1975; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Mona Johnson received her Bachelor of Science from | ||||||
| 7 | George Williams College in Downers Grove in 1975, her Master of | ||||||
| 8 | Social Work from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 1977, | ||||||
| 9 | and her Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership from Aurora | ||||||
| 10 | University in 2005; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, A celebration in honor of Mona Johnson's | ||||||
| 12 | retirement will be held on July 19, 2014 at the Linder | ||||||
| 13 | Conference Center in Lombard; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 15 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 16 | we congratulate Mona Johnson on her retirement as a social | ||||||
| 17 | worker for District 209-Proviso West High School, and wish her | ||||||
| 18 | the best in all her future endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 20 | presented to Mona Johnson as an expression of our esteem and | ||||||
| 21 | respect.
