2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Jack Teausant on |
4 | | the occasion of his retirement after 37 years in the credit |
5 | | union industry; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Jack Teausant officially began his credit union |
7 | | career on May 1, 1976, following in the footsteps of his |
8 | | grandfather, who organized Glass Workers Credit Union in 1951, |
9 | | and his mother, who served as the first full-time employee of |
10 | | the credit union in 1954; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Under Jack Teausant's leadership Glass Workers |
12 | | Credit Union experienced positive growth and the inclusion of |
13 | | local trade unions in its field of membership and expanded |
14 | | presence in the community thus becoming Financial Plus Credit |
15 | | Union; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Jack Teausant has dedicated countless hours of |
17 | | service to ensure that Financial Plus Credit Union is a strong |
18 | | community credit union in LaSalle, Grundy, Bureau, and Putnam |
19 | | counties, serving more than 23,000 members; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, Jack Teausant's family lived and breathed the |
21 | | credit union philosophy of "members helping members", which led |
|

1 | | to his ability to instill drive and dedication in the people he |
2 | | has worked with throughout his career; and
|
3 | | WHEREAS, Jack Teausant's commitment to the credit union |
4 | | movement has led to his tireless efforts to advance financial |
5 | | literacy through participation in the Junior Achievement |
6 | | program, as well as programs offered to assist those with |
7 | | little means; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Jack Teausant has held many |
9 | | leadership positions within the credit union community and |
10 | | specifically Tri-County Credit Union Chapter, including Youth |
11 | | Involvement Representative, Legislative Forum Representative, |
12 | | Illinois Credit Union Foundation Representative, Chapter Board |
13 | | Member, Illinois Credit Union League Board Chairman in 2004 and |
14 | | 2005, and a notable presence on the Credit Union PAC Board from |
15 | | 1981 to 1994, having served as Chairman in 1994; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Financial Plus Credit Union has thrived under Jack |
17 | | Teausant's leadership, receiving highest honors of the Dora |
18 | | Maxwell Social Responsibility Award for the past 18 years and |
19 | | winning the distinguished United States Chamber of Commerce |
20 | | Small Business Award for excellence in 2005, 2006, 2007, and |
21 | | 2009; and
|
22 | | WHEREAS, Jack Teausant was recognized for his excellence in |

1 | | service to the credit union industry by being named "Executive |
2 | | of the Year" in 1982 and 2000 by the Illinois Credit Union |
3 | | Executive Society; and
|
4 | | WHEREAS, Jack Teausant has ensured that all people have a |
5 | | place to come where they feel respected, valued, and able to |
6 | | conduct their financial business with trust; and |
7 | | WHEREAS, Jack Teausant will remain a respected role model |
8 | | for credit union leaders and serve as an inspiration for his |
9 | | board, staff, and community well into the future; and |
10 | | WHEREAS, Jack Teausant was recognized for his lifetime |
11 | | achievements and leadership on behalf of the Illinois credit |
12 | | union movement when he was inducted into the Illinois Credit |
13 | | Union Hall of Fame in 2012; therefore, be it
|
14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
15 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
16 | | we congratulate Jack Teausant on the occasion of his retirement |
17 | | after a lifetime of service to the credit union industry; and |
18 | | be it further

19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
20 | | presented to Jack Teausant as an expression of our esteem and |
21 | | respect.
